Bidding, Close, and Boarding
Percent-of-face vs bps bids, PSA funding, boarding, and the 90-day buyback window on DebtHub. For qualified debt buyers only.
DebtHub Β· Buyer pathway
Once the tape is in diligence, the bid is a number plus conditions. Triton does not invent a market price. Buyers bid. Sellers accept, counter, or walk.
How bids are expressed
Credit card and auto deficiency are usually a percent of face. Specialty and some payday-style paper often trade in bps of face because recovery is a small fraction of balance. Say which unit you are using. A β4β with no unit wastes a day.
Write conditions in the bid: media percent, title gaps, max deceased, funding date. A clean number with hidden conditions is how deals unwind at PSA.
Close
PSA, cut-off date, funding instructions, and a media exhibit. Typical DebtMarket closes run 14β45 days from a complete file. Faster if title and media are already clean; slower if the seller is assembling assignments. Read cut-off vs closing vs funding before you calendar the warranty clock.
Boarding and warranty
You board to your own system. Most Triton purchases include a limited warranty period β typically 90 days from cut-off β covering deceased, paid-prior, and ineligible accounts as the contract lists. File claims through post-sale support.
| Stage | Typical clock | What stalls it |
|---|---|---|
| Bid | 2β10 business days after a working tape | Missing unit (percent vs bps), no capacity |
| PSA / funding | 14β45 days from a complete file | Broken assignment chain, wiring delays |
| Board + warranty | 90 days from cut-off, unless PSA says otherwise | Claims filed by side email with no exhibit |
Questions this page answers
Does Triton set the price?
No. Qualified buyers bid. Sellers accept, counter, or walk. Educational ranges live on the pricing study and evaluation studio.
When does the 90-day window start?
Usually at cut-off, not the day you finish boarding. Confirm it in the PSA.
Can I bid subject to a sample of media?
Yes, if you write it down. Unstated media conditions are how a βwinningβ bid dies in legal.
